The Role
As the Business Development Manager, you will be a key part of the Growth team, working closely with the NBD lead and the Head of Growth. You will report to the NBD Director and your primary responsibility will be converting opportunities into new business wins across a diverse range of clients and industries, maximising Kantar’s expertise. You will help in prospecting and consequently owning the proposal and pitch process, collaborating with internal teams to deliver a compelling, cohesive offering that aligns with client needs and showcases Kantar’s value proposition.

Prospecting: Collaborate with the Head of Growth and NBD Director to continually identifying new sales opportunities with new prospects and lapsed clients.

Conversion: Ability to understand and converse with clients on the full range of Kantar offers. Support the development of proposals and presentations to build and nurture business opportunities as needed. This would require Identifying client needs; collaborating with the domain team to craft research proposals to meet these needs.

Marketing and Thought Leadership: Collaborate with NBD Director to collate and prepare and maintain Thought Leadership library. This will involve staying on top of all global and regional thought leadership initiatives at Kantar, localize it for Vietnam market and consistently updating the client leaders. Assist in coordinating and implementing marketing strategies that support business development and Kantar’s thought leadership.

Stay on top of industry trends: Collaborate with the Head of Growth and NBD Director to identify trends and customer needs, building a short, medium, and long-term sales pipeline in accordance with targets through intensive client engagement.
Specific Responsibilities:
- Identify new leads and contact decision-makers to screen potential business opportunities, selecting those aligned with Kantar’s strategies; and support the proposal/pitching process as required.
- Handle the proposal response process, ensuring all client requirements are addressed by crafting proposals with inputs from respective internal teams.
- Conduct market intelligence to understand client dynamics and competition.
- Stay informed about industry developments to identify potential research opportunities that align with client objectives.
- Stay updated with Kantar’s thought leadership work and disseminate it to the wider business in a timely manner.
- Adapt and/or initiate marketing campaigns and activities; engage with clients using Kantar’s thought leadership work, data, and materials to elevate awareness and proposition for Kantar.
- Collaborate with marketing and other departments to prepare marketing materials and internal/external engagement campaigns.
- Work with teams across functions and regions to support the business development process (e.g., request costing, demonstrating regional best practices).
- Adapt and localize company credentials and disseminate them to the business in a timely manner.
- Develop, expand, and maintain an up-to-date client database and keep track of client engagement.
- Align with all Kantar guidelines regarding business development.
Experience and Skills:
- Consistent track record in B2B sales and new business development
- Strong commercial acumen, with experience of success across the sales funnel (Pre Sales, Lead Qualification, Sales)
- Combines energy, creativity, credibility and a winning mentality
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in both Vietnamese and English
- Excellent Power Point skills and experience of crafting strong pitches, proposals, sales documents.
- Understanding of market research techniques and how they can be used to help answer clients’ strategic and tactical questions – is an added advantage
